Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree is witnessing an overwhelming response at the box office and has stumped all the expectations. It has collected Rs 31.26 crore in first weekend. Considering Monday being a holiday on account of Krishna Janmashtami in many parts of India, Stree will earn even more today.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “All estimations and calculations go for a toss... #Stree wreaks havoc at ticket counters... Multiplexes, single screens, metros, mass circuits - this one has worked across the board... Fri 6.82 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 13.57 cr. Total: Rs 31.26 cr. India biz.” Well, numbers are proof that content is the king and people are appreciative of good script and brilliant performances.
Stree is a horror comedy directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. under the banner of Maddock Films in association with D2RFilms. The movie is said to be based on a horrendously true story and is a laughter riot.
Apart from Raj and Shraddha, it is the sidekicks in the movie which include Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and others who really left a mark with their impeccable comic timing.
