Stree Box Office Collection: Rajkummar Rao’s is unstoppable at the domestic market
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree has turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. The horror-comedy is on its way to the Rs 100 crore club.
Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy which stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles is enjoying a massive run at the box office. It has emerged as one of the biggest surprise Bollywood hits in the recent times. It has earned Rs 82.29 crore after 10 days of its box office run. It has been applauded by the audience as well as the critics for its unique content.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest figures of Stree on Twitter. He wrote, “There’s no stopping this one… #Stree continues its DREAM RUN… Overpowers all new *Hindi* releases by a huge margin… En route to ₹ 100 cr Club… [Week 2] Fri 4.39 cr, Sat 7.63 cr, Sun 9.88 cr. Total: ₹ 82.29 cr. India biz.”
Talking about the good response the film has received, Shraddha opened up saying "I have been reading all the messages about Stree from my close friends, family and my lovely fans. The response is overwhelming, to say the least. I am extremely grateful to my director, producers and writers for making me a part of this amazing film."
Stree, which marks the directorial debut of Amar Kaushik, has been written by Raj & DK. The horror-comedy is inspired by the "ridiculously true phenomenon" of Nale Ba.
A vengeful female spirit, Stree, haunts the streets of Chanderi during the days of the puja, preying on men. To ward her off, the words "O stree, kal aana" are painted outside each house. Legend has it that she reads the inscription and leave.
