Simmba Box Office Collection: Ranveer Singh eats into Zero, crosses the 100 crore mark before SRK starrer
Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s starrer Simmba is now a part of the 100 crore club while Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero is still battling to reach the 100 crore mark.
Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s starrer Simmba is unstoppable at the box office. It’s maintaining a stronghold at the domestic market and is getting the benefit of New Year long holiday. The movie also has an advantage of one more week as no big movie is releasing. Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero released a week prior to Simmba but failed to make a mark. Simmba is minting cash every day. On its first Tuesday or January 1, 2019, the film earned 26 crores. The total collection stands at a whopping Rs 122 crores.
Both Sara and Ranveer have been appreciated for their roles. According to Box Office India, the film started strongly mainly in Maharashtra but did very well all over the country on Tuesday. Going by its box office performance, it seems the Rohit Shetty movie is not slowing down anytime soon. It will be interesting to see how much the movie will fare on its Wednesday. Now, people are back to work and normal routine has kicked in. It might see its first drop on Wednesday.
Simmba stars Ranveer as Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba, a corrupt Maharashtra Police cop, who has a change of heart, when the girl he treats as his sister, gets raped and killed. While Sara plays Ranveer’s love interest, Sonu portrays the antagonist.
Karan Johar recently took to Instagram to praise Ranveer and Rohit. He wrote, “Working with @itsrohitshetty has been one of the best experiences of my life! Have learnt so much from his process and his precision! Making a mainstream film that is loved across the audience base is no mean task and he has mastered the art of doing just that!!!
