The film Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role has finally hit the screens today. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt.
The film or the biopic focuses on the life, family, stardom and controversies in Sanjay Dutt's life. It was one of the most awaited films of 2018.
As the excitement for the film was too high, the film opened to 45-50% occupancy for the early morning shows. It turned out to be the third best opening of 2018, this beating Salman Khan's Race 3 and Aamir Khan's Dangal.
As reported by Box Office India, Sanju is the fifth film that has 20 crore nett plus collections pre-release. The weekend will prove a major win for the film as the numbers look good for this Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
The opening day collections of Sanju are out and has registered a staggering Rs 34 crore nett approx, according to Box Office India. Sanju has beaten the likes of Avengers: Infinity War and Salman Khan starrer Race 3 as the highest opening day of 2018. According to production figures, Sanju collected Rs 34.75 crore.
Along with Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh in vital roles. Sunil Dutt's role is essayed by actor Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala portrays Nargis' character in the film. Dia Mirza is seen as Sanjay's third wife Maanayata Dutt and Vicky Kaushal plays Dutt's close friend.
Not just Ranbir, but even Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kaushal are touted for their brilliant performances in this Rajkumar Hirani directorial. The film is expected to show some more growth in the evening today.
