PM Narendra Modi Box Office Collection Day 7: The Vivek Oberoi starrer garners poor collection in first week

PM Narendra Modi biopic released a week ago with tough competition from Arjun Kapoor starrer India’s Most wanted and Will Smith starrer Aladdin. Both the Hindi films had a dull opening because most of the public was glued to their television screens to see the 2019 Lok Sabha Election results. However, thanks to PM Modi and BJP’s landslide win in the elections, the Vivek Oberoi starrer biopic had audience rushing to theatres to watch the film over the weekend.

The report in Box Office India states, “PM Narendra Modi had a poor first week collecting 15.75 crore nett. There was a good hold on Monday with collections having limited drop from Friday which was a surprise as reports were poor but it was probably because Friday was so low. But the film has not really maintained over the weekdays and there was a further drop on Thursday with the release of Godzilla 2 which means the second week will be a struggle.”

The biopic follows the life of our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Directed by Omung Kumar and jointly produced by Suresh Oberoi, Sandip Ssingh and Anand Pandit, the film shows how PM Modi began his career as a poor tea seller and later went on to become a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His journey into politics begins when he becomes the Gujarat State Chief Minister and in 2014, the 14th Prime Minister of the country.
