Padmaavat Box Office: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film inches close to 100 crore
As per reports in a leading trade website, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat has crossed 80-crore mark at the box office on Saturday and is likely to enter the 100-crore club today.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial Padmaavat has turned out to be a winner at the box-office. The film is being lauded for the performances by the lead actors Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and also for its grandeur sets.
Talking about the box-office collection, the movie made about INR 27.50 crore on its first Saturday.

Wednesday (Paid Preview): INR 4.25 crore
Thursday (First-day collection): INR 17.75 crore
Friday (Second-day collection): INR 31 crore
Saturday (Third-day collection): INR 27.50 crore
Grand Total: INR 80.50 crore
Padmaavat is likely to enter the 100-crore club today (fourth-day).
The Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer has made about $1.20 million business on the opening day in US and Canada, which is an all-time record.
The movie has been performing well in Mumbai and parts of Punjab and also down South. The movie was earlier to clash with Padman but on SLB’s request, Akshay pushed his release date by two weeks.
Meanwhile, Deepika recently at an event said that she is expecting earth-shattering box office numbers post Padmaavat release. This is her third film with SLB after Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
The magnum opus is based on 16th-century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's PadmaavatThe film, produced by Sudhanshu Vats, Ajit Andhare and Bhansali, released on Thursday, ahead of Republic Day, amid protests from the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, which claims the movie distorts facts.
Andhare tweeted, "Padmaavat overseas beats Tiger Zinda Hai and Dangal in the US, New Zealand and Germany ... beats 'Baahubali' in Australia. Beats in millions of hearts across the world, when will it beat in Gujarat?"
