Padmaavat Box Office Report: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film to soon enter the 200-crore club

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest magnum opus Padmaavat is having a great run at the box office. The film hit the screens on January 25, 2018, and stars Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.

The film, on its second Saturday that is, January 3, 2018, earned appx Rs 16.50 crore at the domestic market. The film has minted Rs 185.50 crore in total now. The film is inching closer to Rs 200 crore and might be the latest movie to enter the club.

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali was asked about how the film continues to go through a lot of strife, he told a leading daily, "There are creative angels who come and bless such films. There is some divine energy that says this is the way it should be. It is fascinating to go with the flow. If you are supposed to face the attacks or these kinds of protests that we have gone through, it’s a part of the film’s destiny."

He added, "All I can say is that it just makes you stronger and wants you to make the movie better. When your whole being is at stake and you feel that you are going to perish, you give the thing on hand your best shot. Then things unfold in a way. So, from January 27, 2017, when we were attacked in Jaipur to January 25 this year when the film released, it has been one whole year of strife. I cannot describe all that my team and I went through."
