October Box Office Report: Varun Dhawan's film shows amazing growth on the 2nd day
The Shoojit Sircar directorial, October stars Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu as the lead roles. The film released on April 13, 2018, and showed 55% growth on its first Saturday.
Varun Dhawan and Shoojit Sircar's first outing together October was released on Friday that is, April 13, 2018. The film made about Rs 4.50 crore on its opening day.
Now as per reports on a trade website, the collection for the second day is out and the film showed about 55% jump. October has made about Rs 7 crore on its first Saturday.
Here are the total collections of the film in two days as follows:
Friday - Rs 4.50 crore
Saturday - Rs 7 crore
TOTAL - Rs 11.50 crore
The movie released in around 1683 screens in India and a total of 625 overseas screen count. The movie is expected to pick up in the coming week, banking on the positive word of mouth.
This is the first time Varun has shed his heroic onscreen persona for a subtle character-based role and boy, he has left all of us stunned. After the stupendous success of Judwaa 2, a figure of 5 crores might seem too less for a Varun Dhawan starrer but trying an offbeat film comes with its risk.
Varun is paired opposite Banita Sandhu in the movie who has herself made a noting debut as Shuili.
Earlier, Varun had stated that he did not do October thinking of box office numbers. He went by his pure instinct and had followed through with Shoojit for almost a year to cast him in his film. Shoojit too was all praises for Varun and has termed it his best performance to date.
