As the film gears up for release tomorrow, we spoke to film trade and business analyst Girish Johar to know how much Notebook will make at the box office on the opening day.
Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, Salman Khan is all set to launch two newcomers in the industry through his home production film Notebook which stars Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal. The trailer was launched at a grand event and Salman Khan along with his brothers and the star cast of the film graced the occasion. As the film gears up for release tomorrow, we spoke to film trade and business analyst Girish Johar to know how much the film will make at the box office on the opening day.
Speaking about the film, Johar said, "The promotional material for Notebook so far has been stunning given the scenic beauty of Kashmir. It's not only limited to the trailer, but we get to see the picturesque northern state of India in the songs as well. The music is fantastic and of top-notch quality. The movie has a young fresh couple in Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl and they look really good together. The cinematography showcasing the beauty of Kashmir is done quite well."
Commenting on the box office collection, Johar added, "It's a niche rom-com set against the backdrop of Kashmir..I peg the film to begin at Rs 1.5 crore given there are newcomers and it targets a niche youth market. The word of mouth will come into play and I hope it has a great weekend because we are getting two new actors."
Notebook revolves around the story of Firdaus and Kabir and dates back to 2007. Firdaus leaves her school to get married and Kabir is a substitute teacher in her place. While teaching the kids, he finds a notebook which introduces him to Firdaus and he falls for her without even seeing her in person. Will you be watching Notebook this weekend?
