Namaste England Box Office Collection: Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's film fails to make a mark on Day 1
Talking of Namaste England, the film stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. Their sizzling chemistry was the talking point of the town when they starred in Ishaqzaade. But, it seems like Namaste England couldn't do that same magic, at least on day 1 of its release. Check out the box office collection here.
For any film, it's the box office numbers that tell us the success rate of the film (going by the trends). This Dusshera we are treated with two films - Badhaai Ho and Namaste England. Both the films are of a different genre and have their own appeal. Talking of Namaste England, the film stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. Their sizzling chemistry was the talking point of the town when they starred in Ishaqzaade. Fans wanted to see the two of them together as both their onscreen and offscreen chemistry is bang on point.
The movie is a story of Param (Arjun Kapoor) and Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) whose love story starts from Punjab and settles in London. Jasmeet wants to be a jewellery designer and wants an independent working life in London. She reveals her dream to Param after their marriage and tries to coax him to get the UK's citizenship even by resorting to illegal means. Going by Box Office India, the film could only earn Rs 1.75 crore at the domestic market. Despite the star cast, the film couldn't manage to draw audience to the theatres.
Badhaai Ho took the lead courtesy the reviews that film has been getting from the critics and viewers. Well, Namaste England did face issues in the release in Madhya Pradesh as the distributors of the film tried to release the film in MP single screens. This created a rift between single screens and multiplexes. Multiplexes threatened to burn the posters and not play the film in their properties if it released in MP single screens. Eventually, Namaste England couldn't make to the single screen and that has surely affected the collections.
We got in touch with Girish Johar (Film & Trade Business Analyst) to know his take on how much will Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer, Namaste England, will make on day 1. He shared with us, “Since the movie is release on a partial holiday as some parts are celebrating Dussehra early, we can expect a positive effect of that on the movie’s opening. Secondly, Arjun Kapoor has a good hold on box office and has a star power. Mostly the film is banking upon him. I feel INR 5 to 6 Crores should be Day 1’s collection for the movie. Rest all depends on Arjun Kapoor’s star power followed by how the film is made and then the word of mouth over the extended weekend."
