Mission Mangal Box Office Collection Day 9: Akshay Kumar starrer continues a fantastic run
Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s multi starrer Mission Mangal has completed 9 days in theatres and is having a great run at the box office
Mission Mangal was undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of the year. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the science fiction drama stars a talented ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale and Sonakshi Sinha. It is loosely based on the lives of scientists at ISRO who worked hard day and night to make the Mars Orbiter Mission a success. All the actors have been praised for their powerful performances.
The film has successfully completed 9 days in theatres and has had a fantastic run so far. According to a report in Box Office India: “Mission Mangal did fantastic business on its second Friday with collections going up around 25% due to Janmashtami. Despite the film not being for Hindi mass circuits there were big jumps in smaller areas of places like Gujarat and UP with some places going up 60-70%. The jump at metro multiplexes was more muted but its a very minor holiday there and the jump should come there today.”
According to predictions, the film which has already collected 132.50 crore nett, may cross the 150 crore mark soon. This weekend itself can expect at least 175 crore nett but it all depends on audiences’ plans on Janmashtami. Out of all Independence Day releases of Bollywood’s Khiladi, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha has been on top and Mission Mangal is not too far behind.
