Manikarnika Box Office Collection Prediction: Here's how much Kangana Ranaut’s film will earn on day 1
Now that only a day is left for the release of Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, we got in touch with Trade Analyst and Film Expert, Girish Johar to know his prediction about the opening day numbers. Read on.
Kangana Ranaut has been strong in this journey of getting Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi to see its daylight. It wasn't a cakewalk for her as she also donned the hat of a director. Krish had to leave the film mid-way to direct a South film, so Kangana had to take all the calls related to the direction. The team had to reshoot more than 50 per cent of the film. Sonu Sood had also walked out of the film mid-way. The good part is that the trailer has been appreciated and fans are eager to watch Kangana as Rani of Jhansi, Laxmibai.
Now that only a day is left for the release of Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, we got in touch with Trade Analyst and Film Expert, Girish Johar to know his prediction about the opening day numbers. He told us, "At the end of the day, it has been a difficult journey for Kangana to get this film first initiated, then get it packed and it's one of the expensive films in 2019. It has huge investments in it. She has had her own struggles, but whatever we have seen in the trailer is good and being the Republic Day weekend release, I believe it should be one of the highest openers day 1 for a female lead (non-holiday). In today's time, things have changed - if the film is appreciated, it gets high numbers and if not, it changes its gear and it falls much faster."
"Nowadays with the digital world and word of mouth, the audience is too glued to watching the film that has been appreciated and there are umpteen examples of this now, for Uri or for Simmba. The same dynamic is going to affect Manikarnika as well and I believed it should rake in Rs 12-13 crore on day 1. I peg it on that number but if it's good, it can go higher or vice-versa," he added.
At the promotional events, Kangana has been talking about issues and making some controversial statements. We also asked Girish's views on Kangana's promotional strategy. On this, he mentioned, "To be honest, I think at the end of the day that matters at all. I remember her doing the similar stuff during the time of Simran. It didn't work. Now, the audience is smart as you are telling them to shell a big amount from their pockets as the ticket prices are high and they know if the film is good or now, Whatever she has said, the audience is smart enough to understand it's for promotion. The good part is that the trailer has been appreciated and everyone knows she is leading it and she is a good actor. Kangana has a strong base and the movie will be treated on its merit."
