Judwaa 2 Box Office Report: Varun Dhawan's film surpasses Akshay Kumar's Toilet- Ek Prem Katha at the domestic market
Will Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 be able to race ahead of Shah Rukh Khan's Raees?
Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez's Judwaa 2 has been an outstanding business at the box office and is continuing to do so.
The Varun Dhawan starrer has collected INR 1.25 crore on its third Monday thereby taking the total nett collection to INR 134.28 crore nett in India. Judwaa2 has surpassed the total nett collection of Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha (INR 134.22 crore nett). It will now be interesting to see if Judwaa 2 will be able to race ahead of Shah Rukh Khan's Raees.
The movie has collected INR 211.65 crore GBO worldwide. Judwaa 2 sees Varun bringing back to celluloid the iconic characters Raja and Prem, previously portrayed by Salman Khan in Judwaa, which was also directed by David Dhawan.
"I genuinely hope I can make people laugh and smile and just enjoy. We need to learn to laugh at ourselves and not be scared of judgment. So I did this film to do that this is an Indian genre, not something influenced by the West," Varun shared a day before the release of the film.
Though the movie received mixed reviews from the critics, the audiences have enjoyed the movie and were nostalgic while watching Judwaa 2.
