Judwaa 2 Box Office 1st Week Collection: Varun Dhawan's film is steady; inching close to 100 crore
Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 is unstoppable at the box office.
Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez's Judwaa 2 released last Friday and has been doing really well at the box office. However, the film has got mixed reviews from the critics but the audience is going gaga over the performances by the lead actors.
Judwaa 2 sees Varun bringing back to celluloid the iconic characters Raja and Prem, previously portrayed by Salman Khan in Judwaa, which was also directed by David Dhawan. The first-week collection stands at INR 98.08 crore at the ticket windows.
"I genuinely hope I can make people laugh and smile and just enjoy. We need to learn to laugh at ourselves and not be scared of judgment. So I did this film to do that this is an Indian genre, not something influenced by the West," Varun shared a day before the release of the film.
After Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Judwaa 2 is Varun's second biggest hit of 2017. Though the movie received mixed reviews from the critics, the audiences have enjoyed the movie and were nostalgic while watching Judwaa 2.
After beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and gaining the third spot in the list of the highest openers of 2017, Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 is now in the list of the top 10 highest opening weekend grosser of 2017.
