Jab Harry Met Sejal Box Office: The Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer witnesses a drop on the second day
Here's the box office collection of Jab Harry Met Sejal on its first Saturday.
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal hit the screens on Friday. The movie collected around INR 15 crore on the opening day and went on to become the fourth opener of the year, 2017.
Coming to Saturday, the Imtiaz Ali directorial grossed around INR 14.25 crore. That means the business has dropped to 5% than the first-day business. The two-day business of the film has amounted to INR 28.25 crore.
We will have to wait and watch to see how much does it perform on Sunday and Monday which is also a festival of Rakshabandhan.
Interestingly, the Imtiaz Ali movie is the lowest Shah Rukh Khan opener of recent times. JHMS also failed to beat the day one collection of Shah Rukh's last release Raees that crossed INR 20 crore. Given that the movie's content is suitable for the limited audience, it is expected to grow only in Metro cities and may experience a drop in the other theatres.
The Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer has fared well in overseas. While Gulf has crossed $1.50 million, in the other circuits, going by the trend, it is expected to emerge as the biggest Hindi grosser in overseas of the year till date.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan had informed us yesterday that the movie might benefit from the holiday on Monday on account of Rakshabandhan. He says, "I am looking at around 18-20 crore opening day collection. The response is good, the movie is for multiplex audiences, that is why they have also targeted more multiplexes. Since Rakshabandhan falls on Monday, the film might even touch INR 100 crore target in 4 days."
