Gold Box Office Collection Prediction: Akshay Kumar starrer to open big on its first day?
Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy starrer Gold is all set to release on Independence Day (August 15, 2018), tomorrow. Read to know Gold's box office prediction and more.
Akshay Kumar's film Gold will finally release tomorrow (August 15) and it also marks India's 72nd Independence Day. In the film, Akshay will be playing the role of an alcoholic Hockey coach named Tapan Das. The story is set in the year 1948. It's a story of India's first ever Gold medal win in the game of Hockey after country's independence in 1947. Directed by Reema Katgi, Gold has a promising cast of Mouni Roy, who plays Akshay aka Tapan's wife and actors Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal as hockey players.
Gold will be clashing with John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Satyameva Jayate on Wednesday. Directed by Milap Zaveri, just like Gold, even this film has a patriotic touch. However, John's film is about fighting corruption, wrongdoings of people in the country, the crime against children and women. So will this clash affect Gold's box office collection? We contacted Girish Johar to know his views on Gold's box office prediction and he said, "I feel the word of mouth is surely gonna a play a huge role which will change the box tide by the evening. Gold should be Rs 20 crore plus range." Well, Rs 20 crore is quite big considering another film releasing on the same day.
Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy have been vigorously promoting Gold from last few weeks. This film will also mark TV actor Mouni Roy's debut in the film industry.
