Gold & Satyameva Jayate Box Office Collection Day 2 Prediction: Will a working Thursday affect both the films?
Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate have done well at the box office on Day 1. We got in touch with Trade Expert Akshaye Rathi to know about the Day 2 box office prediction for both the films.
Wednesday - a National Holiday - we had two films clashing at the box office - Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate. Now, the first-day official figures are out and both the films have done exceedingly well. According to Box Office India, Gold has earned Rs 25.25 crore and Satyameva Jayate has raked in Rs 18.50 crore on its opening day. We got in touch with Trade Expert Akshaye Rathi to know about the Day 2 box office prediction for both the films.
Akshaye EXCLUSIVELY told Pinkvilla, "There will be, obviously, a significant drop in the collections of both the films, considering it was a national holiday and they do give the market a big boost. Today is working Thursday and you won't see those kinds of numbers. But, having said that, trends across the exhibition are pretty set. Talking of single screens, it's Satyameva Jayate all the way. If you look at the urban sectors and multiplexes, it's Gold that has been dominating. Both the films are resonating a certain kind of audience."
He took a pause and added, "One thing that needs to be looked at while comparing both the films, you see to see the screens. Gold has got around 3050 screens while Satyameva Jayate has got around 2600 screens. In terms of the division of shows, you see Satyameva has got a stronghold. Both the film has done exceedingly well and will continue to do as we have Parsi New Year, Rakshabandhan and a Sunday falling in between. Considering all of that, they will get good figures at the end of their box office run."
Well, we do agree with his version as both the films have done and had a huge scope considering the long buffer that they have.
