Godzilla 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: The King of Monsters remains steady; to face trouble from Bharat
The sequel to the 2014 film Godzilla, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has managed to keep a decent hold on the box office. Check out the film’s collection
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the sequel of the 2014 film Godzilla. It is the 35th film in the franchise and was one of the most awaited movies of the year. However, the film saw a dull opening and did not impress the audience as much as was expected. It received mixed reviews but was applauded for the visual effects and action scenes. The film saw a jump on the weekend and has managed to keep a decent hold on the box office, but it may face negative impact with the release of Salman Khan starrer Bharat.
The film, directed by Michael Dougherty and written by Dougherty, Zach Shields, and Max Borenstein, is about how humans must rely on Godzilla to defeat King Ghidorah, who has awakened other Titans to destroy the world. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is dedicated to executive producer Yoshimitsu Banno and original Godzilla suit performer Haruo Nakajima, who both died in 2017. The film stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O'Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi in important roles.
The Box Office India report states: “Godzilla 2 had a decent Monday collecting around 2 crore nett with collections dow 40% from Friday and almost at the level of Thursday. But despite the hold the film will probably struggle as will lose its screens on Wednesday when Bharat releases and there is not much of a total on the board.”
