Fukrey Returns Box Office Report: Richa Chadha's film inches close to 50 crore
Fukrey Returns is having a dream run at the box office.
In just five days of its release, Fukrey Returns has done a great job at the box office and well, now it's inching closer to earning INR 50 crore at the domestic market. On Tuesday, the movie minted INR 5.05 crore taking the total to INR 46.65 crore. Going by the trend of box office numbers, the film will have a fantabulous first week.
This Mrighdeep Singh Lamba directorial is the sequel to 2013’s Fukrey, which started slow, but with strong word-of-mouth became a sleeper hit. But, with Fukrey Returns, the makers can take a backseat and relax as the franchise has carved a niche for it and people are appreciating the content of the sequel. The film stars Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal and Manjot Singh in the lead roles.
We got in touch with Richa Chadha aka Bholi Punjaban to know her reaction to the successful run of the film. To which she said, "It's pretty good for a film of this level. I am hoping we keep doing better and better. We all are excited and happy about it. The film has become famous in Delhi, Punjab and surprisingly, even in Mumbai. So, the whole team is overjoyed. In prime time, the theatres are fully booked, so I am pretty thrilled about."
She also added, "I think what's happening is, to be honest, that world is also depressed and they want to laugh. When there is a film which has a lot of fun elements and lots of laughter doses, people like it. Even our film after having a political angle, people appreciated it."
