Pataakha Box Office collection Day 1: Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan starrer to earn 2 Crores
Today, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha released in the theatres and as per reports, the film is expected to earn 2 Crores on Day 1. Pataakha stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover in the lead roles.
Vishal Bharadwaj’s new film Pataakha is just 2 days away from the release and it stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover in the lead roles. With Patakhaa, we will be able to see our own Dangal girl Sanya back on the big screen. She has made her own base and people want to see her post her stellar act in Dangal. Radhika, who has been a popular face on Television, is getting a big Bollywood break through Vishal's directorial. Sunil had been in headlines for his showdown with Kapil Sharma. He, too, is breaking the shell by trying something different in Pataakha.
Wondering what the movie has to offer! Well, it's a hilarious comedy about two sisters who are not happy to be together and would rather be each other's enemies. Yes, that's the plot. The setting is completely rustic and this tale of two sisters - Badki and Chutki who belong to a small village in Rajasthan engage in mutual fight and there's a certain sort of unrest between the two. Finally, they think their marriages will keep them apart but clearly that's not the case and here's the whole story will shape up.
It will be interesting to see how the film will be able to draw audience to the theatres considering the competition is with Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's Sui Dhaaga. For every film, one of the most important parameters is that of box office collection and how much the film is able to rake on day 1. The content and word-of-mouth is an important factor but comes post the viewers have watched the film on the first day.
We got in touch with Girish Johar (Film & Trade Business Analyst) to know his take on the first day figures of Pataakha. He told us, "For Patakhaa, awareness levels are quite low and is mostly banking on the brand name of Vishal Bhardwaj. It has Sui Dhaaga as competition and has a big battle ahead of it. I feel around Rs 1 or 1.5 crores could be its Day 1. But many factors like its WOM, Cricket Final and also WOM of Sui Dhaaga will come into play."
