De De Pyaar De has received good response from the audience. The Akiv Ali directorial has completed 2 weeks on the big screen and has managed to keep a decent hold on the box office. However, despite having a big star like Ajay Devgn, the film did not do better than Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer rom-com Luka Chuppi outside metros. In its second week, De De Pyaar De has collected 21.75 crore nett to take the total collection to around 78.75 crore nett.
De De Pyaar De stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles and Alok Nath and Jimmy Shergill in supporting roles. The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, was slated to release on 15th March this year but it was postponed to avoid competition with Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal. De De Pyaar De revolves around 50 year old Ashish, played by Ajay, who falls in love with 26 year old Ayesha, played by Rakul Preet. The film takes a twist when Ashish takes Ayesha to meet his parents, children and ex-wife Manju, played by Tabu.
According to a report in Box Office India, “The film held steady with the release of Godzilla 2 on Thursday. The other two Hindi films Indias Most Wanted and PM Narendra had big falls of 50% and 20% respectively while it was just 10% for De De Pyaar De. This should ensure some decent figures in the third week and it could go to around 90 crore nett.”
