De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 8: Ajay Devgn starrer does fair business despite three new releases
The Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet starrer released last week and despite a dull opening, saw a healthy week
The expectations with Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet starrer rom-com De De Pyaar De were pretty high but with three new releases this week, it faced a tough competition. However, the film managed to keep a decent hold on the Box Office with a collection of 3.25 crore net. According to a report in Box Office India, due to 2019 Lok Sabha Election Results, the collections of all films were down on Thursday.
De De Pyaar De is a new-age film of a love triangle between 50 year old Ashish, played by Ajay Devgn, 26 year old Ayesha, played by Rakul and Ashish’s ex-wife Manju, played by Tabu. The film also stars Alok Nath and Jimmy Shergill in supporting roles. Central Board of Film Certification awarded the Akiv Ali directorial a U/A certificate with only 3 cuts.
Currently, the total collection by Luv Ranjan’s De De Pyaar De is approximately 60 crore net. According to Box Office India: “The drop from day one is just a little over 60% which is good but that is mainly because day one was not good. The second Friday number should have confirmed its HIT status but it still has work to do. The problem for the film is that it has not been like in the Hindi belt much so is basically remaining a 10-12 city film. The appreciation in places like CP Berar and CI is less than Luka Chuppi and if they film does not emerge a HIT in the final run it will be because of this.”
