Box Office Occupancy Report: Akshay Kumar's PadMan gets a decent opening
Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan directed by R Balki has finally hit the screen today. The movie has got a fair start at the box-office of around 20% to 25% occupancy.
Akshay Kumar's much-awaited film PadMan has finally hit the screen today (February 9, 2018). The film is directed by R Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna under her home banner Mrs Funnybones Productions. The film also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles.
PadMan has got a fair opening at the box-office as per reports in a leading trade website. The film had a fair start of around 20-25% which is quite similar to Akshay's last film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Earlier, while talking to PINKVILLA, trade expert Akshaye Rathi spoke about PadMan stating, "Akshay Kumar's film does well as we all know and they do anything between Rs 11 to 15 crore. It's getting a good release and Padmaavat's screens will subside eventually as people have watched the film as it's been two weeks now. There's no Aiyaary either so it will get around 2500 screens. So, it should touch around Rs 12-15 crore at the box office on day 1. I certainly think the film will earn Rs 50 crore in its first weekend and rest depends on word-of-mouth."
While Atul Mohan said, "I am looking at the day 1 to be around Rs 12 crore at the box office and rest depends on how people perceive the film. It might over Rs 15 crore if the reaction to the film is positive. Talking about Periods and Sanitary Pads is a taboo and people are sceptical about what the film has to offer. It will be after the first shows that we will get to know the audience reaction. If people liked the film, I am sure the film's business will be amazing."
