Box Office Collection Day 4: Pati Patni Aur Woh in the run to become a hit; Panipat sinks at the ticket window
Pati Patni Aur Woh mints 5.25 crore nett on Day 4 and stands at 39.24 crore nett while Panipat sinks at the Box Office with 2.50 crore nett on its first Monday.
Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh and Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt locked horns at the box office this Friday. Both films released on December 5. While Pati Patni Aur Woh is showing significant growth in numbers. Panipat seems to be sinking at the ticket window. The Kartik Aaryan starrer opened with 8.5-9 crore on Day 1 which was a great start for the film. On the other hand, the net earnings of Panipat have been low since Day 1. The film minted 3.5-4 crore on the release day.
The weekend business of both the films spoke their fate. Pati Patni Aur Woh collected 33.5-34 crore nett over the weekend whereas Panipat stood at 17.5- 18 crores. A drop in the turnover rate was expected on first Monday but Pati Patni Aur Woh still continues to hold its run with a collection of 5.25 crore nett on Day 4 while Panipat shows no scope of revival with 2.50 crore nett. The Mudassar Aziz film boasts of a total collection of 39.24 crore approximately and there are chances that the film might turn out to be a hit. Whereas, Ashutosh Gowariker's magnum opus seems to be in losses as it stands with a total collection of about 20 crore nett.
Pati Patni Aur Woh is the official remake of the 1978 film of the same name. Kartik's quirkiness, Ananya's beauty and Bhumi's tactics seem to be working in favour of the film. On the other hand, Panipat, being a big-budget film that explains the Third Battle of Panipat, shows no growth in numbers despite a strong ensemble starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt and a bunch of other talented actors.
