Bala Box Office Day 7: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer witnesses a drop ahead of its second weekend
Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala witnesses a drop in the Box Office numbers ahead of its second weekend as it mints Rs 5.31 crore on its Day 7, summing up to Rs 72.20 crore in the first week.
Ayushmann Khurrana essayed the role of a young man suffering from premature balding in his recent release Bala. The actor took the critics with a storm as he displayed a wonderful act portraying the insecurity and frustration of his character, who tries every possible remedy to cure his fading hairline. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles and aims to put out a message for the society that endorses social acceptance of human beings looking beyond their physical attributes.
The film hit the screens on November 8 and saw a decent start at the ticket window, minting Rs. 10.05 crores on the opening day itself. The film bagged 72.20 crores in the first week, with rocky ups and downs at the box office. Day 7 saw slightly higher numbers than day 6 as it mints 5.31 crore on Thursday but the film seems to witness a drop ahead of its second weekend. The film falls in the hit category but faces staggering growth as it strives hard to reach the 100 crore target.
Bala stands neck to neck with Ayushmann Khurrana's last release Dream Girl but like many other big films, this Amar Kaushik directorial fell prey to online piracy by the unscrupulous group running a website named Tamilrockers, who leaked the film online, affecting its box office numbers.
