Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's film is now struggling at the box at a snail-speed. Going by the production numbers, the film earned INR 3.05 crore on Wednesday and in total, it has collected INR 43/75 crore at the box office. The film opened to mixed reviews but Ranbir's acting has been appreciated by the viewers.

According to a report in a leading daily, the budget of the film is around INR 110 crore. A source also told, “The film should have been made in INR 50-60 crore. The film was also shot multiple times. Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu didn’t have a script in hand and they were shooting the film on Anurag’s instinct. There was also an entire song shot on Govinda. That track was also reshot and eventually taken out. All this must have increased the budget."

In an event, Ranbir was asked will he pay back the distributors if the film tanks at the box office? Ranbir said, "Personally, if my film fails and I am making money out of it, then I will pay back the distributors." Elaborating more on it, he said that 'it is a healthy exercise' and his grandfather followed a similar trend.

"It has been going on since my grandfather's (Raj Kapoor) time in the 1950s. The style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers but also distributors and exhibitors. It is a healthy exercise. If someone loses money on something and you have made money out of it, it's good to compensate," added Ranbir.

"Like when Mera Naam Joker released, distributors incurred losses. So when Bobby released, my grandfather gave a bigger share to the distributors than the exhibitors," he added.

Coming to Katrina Kaif, we asked her about the rumours of Jagga Jasoos getting shelved. To which she said, "I think the thought of shelving the movie came not primarily due to the time and stresses on the movie, but due to other factors. The three years when it was made, it is not just the film that saw a hard time, there were many people who saw the hard times. The journey was a tumultuous one but the thought of shelving didn't come out of lack of belief or faith. It came due to a lot of strive and stress around us. Sometimes it can get a bit much for anyone to take. It came for a short period of time. It came because of the other stress around."
