Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta finally hit the screens on June 9, 2017. The movie had only an occupancy of about 10% to 15% on its opening day. However, it managed to make INR 4.61 crore on Friday as reported by a trade website.

On Saturday, Raabta minted about INR 4.35 crore at the ticket window and the grand total has amounted up to INR 8.96 crore, which is definitely a poor collection for the film. The collections are likely to drop further on Sunday as we have the ICC Champions Trophy match between India and South Africa.

Thus, it shows that Raabta has been rejected heavily by the masses and is likely to be declared a flop. Directed by debutant Dinesh Vijan, the film has SSR in the lead, whose last film M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story had a massive opening of INR 20 crore at the box office.

Raabta is based on reincarnation and also has Jim Sarbh and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles.

Recently, the film became a victim of plagiarism as the makers of Telugu blockbuster Magadheera claimed that Raabta is a copy of their film and they did not buy any rights for it. But Raabta won the case against them and was released on Friday as planned before.

Moreover, according to a leading daily, CBFC found a kissing scene between the lead pair Sushant and Kriti too hot to handle and asked for it to be removed. Not just that, the leading daily quoted a source saying, "The language used in a few scenes was very dirty. The Censors were flabbergasted that such a thing could exist in a simple love story of two young stars who are so loved by the masses and have a following amongst the kids. They even found Kriti-Sushant's kiss too hot to handle."
