Bollywood Movies 2017: Full List of Release dates
Updated list of upcoming Bollywood movies in 2017 and 2018 along with the star cast.
2017 for Bollywood started on an amazing note as it saw the release of a list of entertaining films. From Raees & Kaabil mega release Baahubali 2, it was a movie marathon for cinema lovers.
The year started with the interesting clash between Kaabil & Raees. Both films were liked by the audience and were called successful at the box-office. Raees collected more than 100 crores net in India.
Then, Jolly LLB 2 released in February emerging the first big hit of 2017. It was a sequel to Jolly LLB and went on to become the second 100 cr grosser of 2017. Badrinath Ki Dulhania released in March and took the box-office by storm. The charm of Alia & Varun was bound to create magic and that's what it did. BKD was declared first super hit of 2017.
However, the real storm came with the release of Baahubali 2. This was easily the most awaited film of 2017 but the crowd outside the cinemas on 28th April was far more than expected. The film not just shattered all the box-office records but also set benchmarks for the future. Baahubali 2 became the first ever Indian film to cross unimaginable 1000 crores mark at the box office and went much far than that.
But the good period didn't continue for long as more films started flopping. Starting from small disappoints like Meri Pyaari Bindu, Sarkar 3 there were some major flops like Raabta, Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos, Jab Harry Met Sejal.
There were some small Hits in between like Hindi Medium, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan which provided some relief but not enough to cover up the losses.
Akshay's Toilet Ek Prem Katha tried its own to cover up losses to some extent. The film proved to be a Super Hit with more than 130 crores in the kitty.
Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho was again moderately successful.
Now all eyes are on films like Secret Superstar, Golmaal Again, Padmavati & Tiger Zinda Hai which will be expected to bring major profits for the industry and cover up the giant losses.
Meanwhile, Ittefaq, Tumhari Sullu, Fukrey Returns and Parmanu can do their own little bit if the content is amazing.
