Box Office Report - Baahubali 2 finally becomes the highest Indian film grosser; surpasses Dangal
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has finally surpassed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan's Dangal.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has finally created a history as the film has earned INR 785 crore worldwide and has finally crossed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan's Dangal which stood tall at INR 741 crore. There has been a pattern that not many sequels work at the box office, but if it's a franchise like Baahubali, all such things stand baseless.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's biz is still strong and now it'll be interesting to see is the film crosses INR 1000 crore at the global market. Going by the figures, the nett collections are INR 495 crore. Gross collection figures are INR 630 crores and overseas the film has raked in INR 155 crore.
According to Great India Films, the US distributor of Baahubali 2, the film minted $12.6 million as of Wednesday, officially surpassing the lifetime earnings of $12.3 million of Dangal.
The movie features Prabhas playing the titular role and Rana Daggubati as Bhallala Deva, Satyaraj, Ramya Krishna, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah in principal roles. Prabhas-Anushka starrer collected INR 125 crore at the box office on Day One. Baahubali: The Conclusion proved to be the highest first day grosser in the history of domestic box-office.
In terms of advance booking numbers, the film recorded the biggest advance booking ever, with an earning of INR 30 crore nett. The previous record was held by Sultan at INR 21 crore.
