Box Office Report: Badrinath Ki Dulhania is unstoppable; Beauty and the Beast shows growth on Day 2
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's Badrinath Ki Dulhnia is continuing its successful run at the box office; Emma Watson's Beauty and the Beast has become a competition for Trapped, Aa Gaya Hero and Machine.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan traces the story of Vaidehi and Badri. The film hit the screens on March 10 and is indeed enjoying a successful run at the ticket windows. Alia and Varun have been appreciated by both the critics and the viewers as well for their brilliant performances onscreen.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania has also become the third biggest opener of 2017 after Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2. The film showed a 45% growth on the second Saturday and earned INR 5.75 crore. Badrinath Ki Dulhania, in total, has collected INR 81.52 crore in nine days of its release. The positive word of mouth has indeed helped the film to rake in money at the ticket windows.
On the other hand, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is continuing showing growth in the Indian market and has become a competition for Trapped, Aa Gaya Hero and Machine.
Beauty and the Beast released on March 17 and stars Emma Watson who plays Belle and Dan Stevens who is the Beast. The film also features Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Hattie Morahan and Ian McKellen in pivotal roles.
The film showed a 60% growth on Day 2. It earned INR 2.25 crore and in total, it has collected INR 3.65 crore.
