Box-Office Report: Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania crosses the 50 crore mark

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania is having a great run at the box-office.

BKD earned INR 12 crore approx on Monday. The total collections at the box-office have now gone up to INR 56 crore (Friday - INR 12 crore, Saturday - INR 14.25 crore, Sunday - INR 15.75 crore). This means that within 4 days, BKD has already crossed the 50-crore mark. 

According to a leading movie trade website, Badrinath Ki Dulhania made a record of the 16th highest Monday of all time. Despite being a medium budget film, the Varun-Alia starrer has got a wider reach and benefited due to the long holiday weekend.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's home banner Dharma Productions. The movie is a unique love story between Badri and Vaidehi played by Varun and Alia respectively. 

So, definitely, it was a colourful Holi for Alia and Varun. The movie went on to become the third biggest opener of 2017 after Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will soon start shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh. She will also start shooting for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer superhero film to be directed by Ayan Mukerji.

Whereas Varun has started the shoot of Judwaa 2 alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. He recently signed a film to be helmed by Shoojit Sircar.
