Sonakshi Sinha's film Akira completed first weekend at the box-office with a rise in collection on Sunday. The film has been maintaining a steady pace at the box-office. Although the film's 1st and 2nd day collections were almost similar, Akira witnessed growth on its 3rd day (Sunday) of the weekend. The film earned INR 6.50 crore on its third day.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, the action movie will enjoy a 4-day long weekend as Monday is a holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi. Made with a budget of INR 30 crore, the film has already covered half of it. Akira raked in INR 16 crore in its three days of release.

The film had received mixed reviews from the critics but apparently has been enjoying good word of mouth and that will certainly help boost its box office collection.
