BCCI invites applications for head coach, support staff after India's World Cup 2019 campaign
The BCCI will accept applications for the head coach along with other roles till July 30.
The BCCI has invited fresh applications for various positions after India's World Cup 2019 ended with the semis loss. Though the contracts of various coaches were to end with the World Cup, the BCCI handed a 45-day extension to them, including head coach Ravi Shastri, batting coach Sanjay Bangar and bowling coach Bharat Arun keeping in mind India's tour to Windies from August 3.
"The job openings will put be up on our website in a day or two. Besides the support staff, fresh applications will also be invited for the post of team manager," a BCCI official told PTI.
Along with applications for head coach, bowling and batting coaches, the BCCI is also looking for a fielding coach, strength and conditioning coach, team manager and a physiotherapist.
Shastri, Bangar, Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar will get an automatic entry in the process, but the side will need a new fitness coach and physio ahead of their tour to West Indies, after Shankar Basu and Patrick Farhat stepped down from their respective roles after the World Cup ended.
While the coaches will get a contract from 5 September, 2019 to November 24, 2021, the manager will be named for a one-year period.
Shastri was appointed as the head coach in 2017 after Anil Kumble's tenure ended rather controversially.
The BCCI has open its application process till 5pm on July 30.
