Indian Cricket team had a flying start as both their openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma smashed runs against the Bangladesh bowlers. Earlier this day, Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first and both the teams made two changes each in their playing 11.India’s Vice-Captain, Rohit Sharma smashed his fourth century in the tournament, highest by any player in this World Cup. With 520 runs in the tournament, Rohit Sharma surpasses David Warner to become the highest run-scorer in the World Cup so far.

In the team’s previous clash against the hosts, Rohit smashed a brilliant 102 off only 109 deliveries with a strike rate of 93.58. There is no doubt, that this Indian opener has been the most consistent player in the team in the tournament and has scored runs in pressure situations in important clashes.

Indian opener, KL Rahul also scored his second half century in tournament in 57 deliveries. Both the Indian openers managed to get the Men in Blue an exceptional start in this clash.This partnership between the Indian openers is the highest opening partnership by any team so far in this World Cup. Rohit Sharma who scored 104 runs in 91 deliveries was sent back to the pavilion as he lost his wicket on a ball bowled by Soumya Sarkar. Skipper, Virat Kohli who has scored five consecutive half centuries in the tournament walks in to bat.

If India wins this match against Bangladesh, the team will officially qualify for the semi-finals along with Australia who has already fixed their spot in the top four.
