The Bangladesh cricket team rode on an all-round performance from Shakib Al Hasan to register a massive win against Afghanistan in the Cricket World Cup 2019. With this win, they are just one point behind England in the points table, and have kept their hopes of qualifying for the semis alive.
The win was led by star all-rounder Shakib, who has been on a roll in this World Cup. He scored a fifty in the game and also returned to pick 5 wickets in the second innings. He become the first Bangla cricketer to cross 1000 runs in a World Cup match, the first ever player from Bangladesh to pick 5 wickets in a World Cup and also the second overall - after Yuvraj Singh - to score a 50 and pick 5 wickets in the same game.
