Afghan Skipper, Gulbadin Naib warns Bangladesh & says, ‘we are drowned but we’ll take you with us’ in WC 2019
Afghanistan currently ranks last in the points table and have lost all the matches played in the tournament so far.
Afghanistan is out of the tournament by losing all their games, whereas Bangladesh on the other hand still has a slight chance and ranks sixth in the points table. It will be an important encounter today for the Bangladesh cricket team against the Afghans to still keep their chances of semis alive in the tournament.
However, when asked about the match, the Afghan skipper, Gulbadin Naib said, “Hum to doobe hai sanam, tumko lekar doobenge” (We’re already drowned darling; we’ll take you along with us)
Even though, Afghanistan are out of the tournament, they showed an excellent display of cricket against the Men in Blue and gave the Virat Kohli led side a tough competition in the World Cup. When asked about that game, Gulbadin said India has the best batting attack in the World. He added that if the wicket helped their spinners, maybe it’s very difficult for everyone and not only Bangladesh.
Praising the Bangladesh side, he said that Bangladesh have showed their skills in the tournament and have chased 320 plus against West Indies. However, he also mentioned that the Afghan spinners are one of the best spin attacks in the world.
Speaking of the conditions and the pitch, Naib said that they have struggled a lot in these conditions in the first three or four matches of the tournament. However, the last two games have been completely different and it’s a very good wicket for them. “So, it’s like Asian conditions, the ball turning, especially in the last game against India.” He added
