80,000 Indians expected to travel to UK for World Cup 2019
Virat Kohli has appreciated the crowd support at all stadiums whenever India has played in the CWC 2019
Around 80,000 Indians are traveling to United Kingdom during the Cricket World Cup 2019, the British Deputy High Commissioner to India Jan Thompson said on Monday.
"Our estimate is that around 80,000 Indians will travel to the UK for the World Cup. There is tourist rush anyway at this time of the year but this season it is more so because of the cricket," Thompson told PTI.
According to latest figures, around 600,000 visas were issued to Indians in the last twelve months.
All the games that have featured India in the World Cup have been full houses, with Indians and British citizens of Indian origin flocking stadiums across stadiums.
Virat Kohli, had earlier, said that playing in UK is no different to playing in India, as the crowd support for all games is immense. He had also taken a selfie with fans at Manchester after india's win against West Indies, where he spoke and applauded the crowd support.
India take on Bangladesh next on July 2.
