5 Office KDramas that make us want to land a job in Korea ft. Suspicious Partner, My Secret Romance & more

Office romance in real life does come with its own share of problems. But when it comes to KDramas, the expectations they’ve raised soars higher and higher to a limit where we know, this is not possible in real life. However, a fan can dream! From falling in love with their bosses to falling in love with their secretaries or coworkers, KDramas, in my opinion, have explored all the angles.

What makes office romances more interesting is the “forbidden” or “hidden” concept - that the love can’t be exposed or the sweet little moments such as going to meetings together, going to work together, etc. Even though a recurring theme in many dramas, each couple and story brings with a new freshness and charm. Even the awkward moments when the relationship is revealed or just awkward moments in general, we absolutely love them!

Let’s not make you wait any further. Here’s our list of  office dramas!

Strong Girl Do Bong Soon

The lead couple’s relationship starts with the cliched male lead trying to make the female lead work for her. After witnessing Do Bong Soon’s superhuman strength, CEO Ahn Min Hyuk asks her to be his bodyguard. What ensues is drama, entertainment, some not-of-this-world experiences!

What's Wrong With Secretary Kim

One of the most popular KDramas, Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young have been etched in people’s memory since the show. The story is of Kim Mi So putting in her resignation (reason being she wants to live her life and find love) in the first episode and CEO Lee Young Joon not wanting to let her go because of how perfect she is as his secretary. After some futile attempts of having her stay, Young Joon unknowingly falls in love with his secretary and the rest of the drama is how the CEO tries his best to give  Mi So the best love life!

Suspicious Partner

Another fan favourite, Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyung’s Suspicious Partner is a law drama. It shows the life of a prosecutor in the Korean industry and the challenges that arise if they fall in love with a coworker. A bit different from the cliche CEO-Employee office dramas, this is a breeze of fresh air. It’s a love story between a prosecutor and his intern. A major twist that makes the drama (and romance) more interesting is that the intern becomes a prime murder suspect in a major serial murder case involving a psychopath murderer, soon.

Touch Your Heart

Everyone’s favourite lead couple is back! This is a must watch for anyone who missed Lee Dong Wook and Yoon In Na after Goblin and wanted to see them on screen again. In Na’s Oh Jin Shim loses her career to a scandal, which ruins her reputation as a top actress and is jobless for two years. In a deal, she agrees to work as a secretary for Kwon Jung Rok, a lawyer. The story’s light, romantic and fun. It’s definitely a light entertaining watch on any day!

My Secret Romance

One of the most unique plots in the office-romance sagas, this is about a woman who finds out her boss is the guy she had a one-night stand with, three years ago! Song Ji Eun’s Lee Yoo Mi character works at a cafeteria, only to later find out that the director is her one-night stand guy, Jin Wook (played by Sung Hoon). After Yoo Mi disappears in the morning without any message or a word, Jin Wook’s character is shown to be disappointed, as if he definitely wanted something more than just this. Their fate entangles as they meet one another again and a big misunderstanding takes place between them. This is also a highly recommended drama as it talks about the “taboo” of one-night stands.
