'Salman Khan is a great star and I am fan of his' - Nishikant Kamat
At a time when most of the directors are keen on working with superstar Salman Khan, director Nishikant Kamat had the privilege of working with him in his Marathi movie 'Lai Bhaari' without having approached the actor.
The 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' actor made a special cameo in Riteish Deshmukh's debut Marathi movie, surprising everyone.
Says Nishikant, "Salman was very sweet. We were shooting for ‘Lai Bhaari’ in Hyderabad and he was shooting for ‘Jai Ho’. Between the shots, Riteish and I were sitting and he suddenly came and said ‘I want to act in your film. Do something and I am serious’. I started wondering how will I fit him into this. That is how it happened. Initially I took it lightly, but when Salman nagged for five days, I came up with a scene for him. People go out of the way to cast him and in that way I was lucky that he wanted to work with me."
With his last experience of working with Salman Khan was a pleasant one, probe the 'Drishyam' director if he is keen on making a full-fledged film with the 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' actor, he admits, "He is a great star and I am a fan of his as an audience. But as a director I need to find a subject for him. I am very subject oriented. If I have a correct subject, I can approach any star."
Point taken Nishikant!
