Was Rani Mukerji offered Sonakshi’s ‘Haseena’ role?
While Sonakshi Sinha is all set to play the role of Haseena, Dawood’s sister in a biopic, apparently, the role was first offered to Rani Mukerji.
A 9XE report stated that the Apoorva Lakhia, the director of the film had approached Rani Mukerji for the titular role in ‘Haseena - The Queen of Mumbai’, but the actor turned down the role.
Rani Mukerji was last playing a cop’s role in ‘Mardaani’. As she turned down the role, Sonakshi Sinha grabbed this opportunity to play intense character. The actor is currently busy shooting for ‘Akira’, in which she portrays the titular role and the film involves many action sequence.
In ‘Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai’, the upheavals of the life of Dawood’s sister will be portrayed. An excited Sonakshi took to twitter to announce about her role saying, “It is a brilliant script... I can’t wait to play haseena.”
Well, it looks like Rani’s loss is Sonakshi’s gain.
