Watch the true story of a man who broke a mountain for love. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte star in this biopic of an ordinary man who did the extraordinary. Releasing on August 21st, this film is directed by Ketan Mehta.
Manjhi The Mountain Man is based film on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, popularly known as the ‘Mountain Man’, who lived in Gehlaur village, near Gaya, in Bihar. Apparently, Dashrath carved a road through a mountain, for which it took him 22 years. He used only a hammer and chisel for this impossible task. Dashrath thus shortened travel between the Atri and Wazirganj blocks of Gaya town from 55 km to 15 km. Manjhi is recorded to have said, “Though most villagers taunted me at first, there were quite a few who lent me support later by giving me food and helping me buy my tools.”
Buzz is that director Ketan Mehta will donate a share of film's profit to Manjhi's village, Gehlaur.
