'Neerja' is based on the life of the Pan Am flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her own life to assure the safety of the passengers when their plane (Pan Am Flight 73) was hijacked on 5th September 1986. Neerja was awarded Ashoka Chakra for her bravery.
'Neerja Bhanot' is being directed by Ram Madhvani.
