According to a leading daily, Karan Johar lost his cool at a journalist when asked about whether his upcoming film, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', was a remake of the 1977 film 'Doosra Aadmi'.

The director lashed out stating that 'Ae Dil...' was not a remake and wondered why no one ever attributes originality to a film. He said,

"No one ever attributes originality. Ho hi nahi sakta!"

He however made it clear that the 1977 film was not 'dated' but was perhaps a progressive film,

"In fact, it's not an outdated film at all. It is a progressive film, perhaps way too progressive for its time."

Karan also stated that he was not bothered about rumour mongers as he had to deal with them throughout his life,

"I have combated that throughout my life. People said that Kal Ho Na Ho is a remake of Anand. Then they realised it wasn't. The story was repeated, no pun intended, for Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna too, which they wanted to believe would carry similarities with Silsila. That wasn't the case either."

Karan also said that he wished to make more movies and take fewer gaps,

"I want to take fewer gaps, direct more movies. Also, I think that ab umar bhi ho gayi hai. Jab tak I don't get mad by the age of 60, I want to make many more movies."

'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma and is expected to release around Diwali 2016.
