Dark underarms are caused by using antiperspirants and deodorants. Yes, they do a good job of covering body odour, but they don't work well for your armpits. They are packed with tons of chemicals and even cause bacterial infections at times.

Another reason for dark underarms is dead skin. Dead skin cells can accumulate in your underarms if these areas are not cleaned properly. It can make your armpits appear darker. 1. Cucumber

2. Sugar

Sugar not only adds sweetness to dishes, but it also works great as an exfoliator. To exfoliate your underarms the natural way, use a mixture of honey and sugar. This scrub will make your underarms smell great apart from peeling off that layer of dark, dead skin.

3. Papaya

To use papaya on your underarms, you need to use the skin of the fruit on your armpits. Rub the skin on your armpits for 10 minutes, then wash it off with normal water. 

4. Potato

Well, potatoes contain an enzyme known as catecholase that can help lighten your skin. All you have to do is mash a few potatoes and apply the paste to the darkened portions of your underarms.

5. Yogurt

Yogurt is rich in lactic acid, which is a type of alpha hydroxy acid that is known to eliminate dead skin cells. So, before you hit the shower, make sure you lather up on some yogurt.
