Hair care: Easy natural ways to keep your hair moisturised

Luscious beautiful hair can literally melt anyone’s heart. It is hands down the easiest way to boost one’s confidence and change their mood and make it all merry. However, instead of taking  care of them and pampering them, we in honest terms, “exploit them”. In the wake of making them look “prettier” we turn to a lot of styling methods like straightening, colouring, rebounding etc.

Of course the temporary effects of it do look beautiful but the aftermath is not less than any horror story. Our mane is left all hazy, dry and lifeless. The various heating treatments work negatively on the hair and leaves it all frizzy. However, we’ve got your back as we have listed down easy and quick ways of moisturizing your hair and making it look shiny.

Why do you need to moisturise your hair?

Well, the answer is easy. Moisturizing is important as the moisture levels change with seasons. Winters are a major nightmare as your hair is exposed to the cold conditions. Also, it gets weakened when you use excessive style tools leaving your hair weakened.

Overwashing your hair, using excessive harsh shampoos, exposure to salt or hard water, heat styling are all reasons why your hair becomes dry and frizzy.

Listed below are easy and quick ways of moisturizing your hair.

Banana and olive oil

Both of these ingredients are great in providing moisture, making your hair soft and also hydrating it. Blend 1 ripe banana with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Apply the mixture on your hair and scalp. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with water.

Coconut oil

We believe that our mothers and grandmothers have all asked us to apply coconut oil on our hair for long and luscious hair. Well, the oil has amazing properties which help us in preventing any protein loss. All you’ve got to do is take extra virgin coconut oil, massage it gently in your scalp and leave it on for about an hour. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo followed by a conditioner.

Shea butter

Shea butter consists of emollient properties which is great in keeping the moisture intact. All you need is about 2 tablespoon of shea butter. Warm it a bit and apply it on your scalp and the lengths of your hair. Massage it gently and leave it on for at least an hour. Rinse it with a mild cleanser followed by a conditioner.

Aloe vera and lavender

Our hair gets majorly damaged given the harsh sun rays. Aloe vera has properties which help in providing a protective layer to the hair and saving it from the sun. Lavender oil helps in hair growth and also leaves your hair smelling divine. You need about 1/4th cup of aloe vera gel, 1 cup of water and 2-3 drops of lavender oil. Blend aloe vera gel with water and 2-3 drops of lavender oil. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your hair whenever required.

Raw egg and olive oil

Egg as we all know gives us stunning silky hair. Olive oil on the other hand promotes hair growth ad also helps in moisturising dry hair. Take one whole egg and blend it with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture on the scalp and lengths of the hair and leave it on for about an hour. Rinse it with a mild shampoo and condition it.

No matter how many artificial and market products we use, in the end the advantages and effects of the natural home products are just the next level.
