EXCLUSIVE: Cannes 2019: Sonam K Ahuja is obsessing over 60s hairstyles, says her hairstylist

The Cannes 2019 fever finally comes to a close, at least for all of us Indian birdies. Sonam K Ahuja, who is responsible for shaping the face of fashion in India blew us over with her Cannes 2019 looks. A veteran in the French Riviera, Sonam as always served us some spectacular looks and this year was no different.

Pinkvilla got in touch with Sonam’s hair and makeup stylist Hiral Bhatia and Arti Nayar, who gave us some inside details about the diva’s looks. When we first asked them how does the team zero down upon a certain look, Hiral stated that each of them comes up with various ideas. She elaborated how Rhea, Kapoor Ahuja’s baby sister and stylist has a vision for a look and the team brainstorms over it. Needless to say this kind of team work always works wonder for Sonam.

We asked Arti who has worked with Sonam as her makeup artist for a very long time, which was her favourite look and bang came the reply. “All of the looks are extremely challenging and a lot of fun but my favourite has to be the Abu-Jani look,” she said. Nayar added that that they wanted the look to be subtle, sexy and also very rich. She personally loves the brown smokey eyes and so it was a lot of fun for her to pull the look off. Hiral too seconded that look and stated that it was her favourite look too.

The HMU artists credited Rhea Kapoor for being extremely open to ideas. They shared a collective opinion saying that Rhea respects and values everyone’s opinions and suggestions making the whole look creating process way more enjoyable and interesting. When we asked Arti one makeup trend that the team is obsessing over she immediately said that it was playing with colours. “You can do so much with different colour eyeshadows and I think that is a great trend which is going to be around for a while,” she concluded. Hiral, Sonam’s hair stylist revealed that the actress is currently obsessing over the 60s hairstyles.

Well, one thing is for sure that the team really puts in their hearts and souls in making the stunner look even more beautiful. Sonam has been representing India and has always bridged the gap between the Western culture and ours. Every year she makes sure that you do see a hint of Indianness in her attire to carry along who she really is. This year Sonam hand’s down walked away with the cake as the best dressed celebrity at the Cannes Film Festival.
