ICC World Cup 2019: SA vs WI warm up match; key players to look at

West Indies will play its first official warm up game in the tournament against South Africa, today at Bristol County ground. South Africa already won its previous warm up match against the Lankans by a huge margin of 87 runs.

Let’s have a look at the players to watch out for in this Warm up match

1.       Andile Phehlukwayo- The unsung hero of the team and an emerging talent for the side, Andile, in his previous match against the Lankans, showed us his capabilities and skills. In his 7 overs, he managed to take 4 wickets whilst giving only 36 runs at a brilliant economy of 5.14. His 35 runs contributed decently in the team’s overall total in the match against the Lankans. The Proteas will be rooting for their star all rounder as he makes an impact further in the tournament.

2.       Faf Du Plessis-  The South African skipper was in great form in his last warm match against Sri Lanka. He carried the team’s batting pressure right from the start and scored a magnificent 88 runs of just 69 deliveries. South Africa will depend largely on him in their batting department ahead of the tournament.

3.       Chris Gayle- His explosive batting can be a major threat to any team in the World Cup tournament.  After having a decent season in the Indian Premier League, Chris Gayle will surely be back in action in the Windies jersey. He’ll be keen to end his career on a high note with a World Cup trophy by his side.

4.       Andre Russell- This West Indian all-rounder is the biggest asset for the team. He had a smashing IPL season, with 510 runs in 13 innings. However, it will be difficult to compare his IPL form in International cricket.
