The thoughts of swinging conditions, batting collapses in England are diminishing swiftly. The matches played at the venue during recent times suggest that it no more belongs to the seam bowlers alone. There have been tons of runs scored with seam bowlers finding no help whatsoever from the pitches. Its the batsmen who have been on charge. However, the spinners have surprisingly done more damage. Amid flood of runs, the spinners who bowl at right areas have been successful.

Taking example of the hosts, its Adil Rashid who has constantly taken wickets, while Moeen Ali also contributed to the large extent. Pertinently, the recently concluded England-Pakistan ODI series also was a nightmare for fast-bowlers. They were taken to stands mercilessly with over 600 runs scored in each match.

Spinners, on other hand, were comparatively better. They not only provided breakthroughs but made sure to not give away too many runs.
The fact that almost every venue at England comes up with huge boundaries, makes the task a bit more easier for slower bowlers.
Moreover, as the World Cup begins from May 30, the weather is expected to remain dry. So, the pitches will be even drier as the tournament commences, suggesting spinners can have more spin to offer. Owing to this fact, most of the participating teams are entering the tournament with some good spinners.

Teams like India and Afghanistan would probably fetch a lot of benefit once the ball starts turning. Both these teams have a few too many good spinners in their squad. Nonetheless, England, Australia, Pakistan andother teams also have a few spinners in the bag.
