The World Cup opening ceremony that was held on May 29th comprised of various famous personalities and cricketers who graced their presence at the event. However, the highlight of the ceremony was when Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai trolled India with its cheeky comments.

All the 10 World Cup participating countries were paired up in a 60 second challenge game. The ceremony comprised of an icon from each nation and a former cricketer paired up in a game. Whilst India was paired up with Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble, Pakistan was represented by Malala Yousafzai and Azhar Ali. A 60 second challenge cricket match was played by all the teams participating in the tournament. India landed up last in the challenge by scoring a mere of just 19 runs. However, Pakistan managed to score 38.

This couldn’t help Malala but take a dig at India. She said, “Pakistan, we were okay, not too bad. We came seventh. But at least we were not last like India.” This comment of hers though said in the heart of the moment, made the Indian fans quite furious and she couldn’t help herself from getting trolled on twitter.

An essential condition for winning a nobel for peace is to rise above petty and hateful nationalism. You clearly don't deserve the award @Malala

However, despite the hatred, a few also expressed their moment of pride to see this Pakistani girl representing the country at the ICC World Cup opening ceremony at Buckhingam Palace.
