Vijay Shankar finally opened up about Ambati Rayudu's post on World Cup snub. The all-rounder while responding positively remarked that it's a common feeling when a cricketer is not picked in the national team.

Ambati Rayudu was a certain choice for number 4 spot in Indian squad for World Cup; however, selectors preferred inexperienced Vijay Shankar over him. Chief selector, MSK Prasad, later while defining Shankar's inclusion said that he was included in the squad for his three dimensional approach.

Disappointed with the exclusion, Ambati Rayudu later took to Twitter and wrote, "Just ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup", probably hitting out at Prasad for the 'three dimensional' comment.

Following this, the right-handed batsman received a lot of criticism from cricket fans; however, some of them also supported him.

Vijay finally responded to this Tweet in a talk show with Gaurav Kapur. The cricketer said, “I know for the fact that how a cricketer would feel if they are not being picked. I can understand from a player’s point of view. And I know for the fact that he didn’t mean it to me. It was just that he put that tweet for the sake of it. I can understand the situation in which he was. It is fine for any cricketer.”

Meanwhile, Vijay Shankar recently received a blow on his right forearm, forcing him to stay out of the warm-up match. It will be interesting to see whether he plays today against Bangladesh or not.
